INSTALLATION

AC ADAPTER CONNECTION

Connect the AC adapter (included) to an AC outlet having 120V, 60Hz AC only. Plug the small end into the DC jack on the rear of the unit.

CAUTION: Do not touch the AC adapter with wet hands. Fully insert the plug without exposing any part of the blade.

INSERTING BATTERIES

 

 

 

Two (2) “AAA” size batteries can also be used to power and/or to provide a backup

for the clock and alarm time for this unit as follows:

 

1.

Open the battery door by pushing in on the tabs, then removing the door.

2.

Insert two (2) “AAA” batteries as shown. Alkaline batteries are recommended

3.

for the longest playing time.

 

 

 

Place the battery door back on the compartment.

 

NOTE: The batteries are used to back-up the clock, alarm time and radio preset

memories when the AC adapter is disconnected or there is a power failure.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:

1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.

2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.

3. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline, Rechargeable and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.

4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.

5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)

BACKLIGHT

If the power supply is connected to the DC 6V IN jack, the backlight will always light on in the display.
