Batteries

Insert as indicated three alkaline batteries, type R6, UM3 or AA. for operation of the radio only

Remove the batteries from the set if they are exhausted or not to be used for a long time.

Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly

Environmental note:

The packaging may be separated into two materials: cardboard (box) and polyethylene (bags). Please observe the local regulations regarding the disposal of these packaging materials.

Your set consists of materials which can be recycled and reused if disassembled by a specialized company. Ask about local regulations on recycling your old set.

Do not dispose of exhausted batteries with your household waste.

CLOCK TIME SETTING

The clock operates on a watch battery. When you need to replace the clock battery, remove the clock piece and take it to a jeweller or watch repairer for battery replacement.

1Unscrew the clock cap to open the clock compartment.

2Place your hand over the clock and gently tip the unit forwards to release the clock into your hand.

3Pull and turn the clock winder to adjust the time. When the time is set, push the winder back into position.

4Insert the clock piece back into the compartment and replace the cap tightly.

Piles

Insérez les trois piles alcalines, type R6, UM3 ou AA comme indiqué, uniquement pour le fonctionnement de la radio.

REGLAGE DE L’HORLOGE

L’horloge fonctionne avec une batterie pour horloge. Lorsque vous devez remplacer la batterie en question, enlevez la section d’horloge et emmenez-la chez le bijoutier ou chez un horloger pour effectuer le remplacement de la batterie.

1Dévissez le couvercle de l’horloge pour ouvrir le compartiment.

2Placez l’horloge dans votre main et appuyez doucement sur l’unité pour faire sortir l’horloge vers l’avant.

3Tirez sur le bouton et tournez pour régler l’heure. Une fois l’heure réglée, repoussez le bouton en place.

4Introduisez à nouveau la section horloge dans le compartiment et remettez le couvercle bien en place..

RADIO RECEPTION

1Press the POWER button to switch on the radio.

– The power indicator lights up

2Press VOLUME 3 or 4 once or more to adjust volume level.

3Adjust FM/MW (or LW) switch to select waveband.

4Turn TUNING to tune to radio stations.

To improve reception

FM: A pigtail antenna is tucked inside the battery compartment. Open the battery door to obtain the pigtail. Extend and position the pigtail through the pigtail outlet (located on the lower edge of the battery door) before you replace the battery door securely.

MW (AM or LW): The set is provided with a built-in aerial. Turn the entire set to find the best position.

5Press the POWER button again to switch off the radio.

– The power indicator goes out.

GENERAL INFORMATION

IMPORTANT

NOT to be immersed or put into continuous contact with water!

Do not expose the set to rain, moisture, or high humidity for long periods of time, or to excessive heat e.g. heating equipment, cars parked in direct sunlight.

Use a soft, slightly dampened chamois leather to clean the housing. Do not use any strong or corrosive cleaning agents such as thinner, benzene, etc. as these may spoil your set.

àla section inférieure du clapet) et remettez le clapet bien en place. MW (AM ou LW): L’appareil est pourvu d’une antenne intégrée. Orientez l’appareil dans tous les sens pour déterminer la meilleure position de réception.

5Appuyez à nouveau sur le bouton POWER pour éteindre la radio.

– Le témoin d’alimentation s’éteint.

Any defect in materials or workmanship in the product occurring within 12 months from the original date of purchase will be rectified free of charge by Philips Service or one of our authorised service centers.

Conditions of warranty

1.All claims for warranty service should be made to your nearest Philips Service Branch or to a Philips authorised service dealer. Reasonable evidence of date of purchase must be provided.

2.This warranty extends only to defects occurring under normal use of the product when operated in accordance with the instructions.

3.Home service within the normal service area of Philips Service or one of our authorised service centres will be provided for television receivers with screen size 59cm and above. All other products are to be brought or sent to your nearest Philips Service Branch or to an authorised service centre.

4.This warranty does not cover:

a)Mileage or traveling time, pickup or delivery, cost of insurance.

b)Service costs arising from failure to correctly adjust the controls of the product or to observe the instructions, or inspections that reveal that the product is in normal working order.

c)Product failures caused by misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, accidental breakage, transit damage, inexpert repairs or modification by unauthorised persons, lightning strikes, vermin intestation or liquid spillage.

d)Cleaning of video or audio heads.

e)Inadequate receiving antennae.

f)Replacement of worn or used batteries, styli or other consumables.

The conditions contained in this warranty replace and override the provisions of the World-Wide Guarantee for Products sold in Australia.
