Parameter & Functions Set-up Guide

Delay Unit: The options are uS (microseconds), ms (milliseconds), mm (millimetres) and m (metres). These can be set separately for Input Delay and Output Delay, using the arrow keys to switch between In and Out. Use the rotary control to change the unit type.

Compressor/Limiter Threshold Unit: The options are dBu or V (Volts). Use the rotary control to change the unit type.

Temperature Unit: This relates to the temperature set as the ambient temperature when calculating delay times. Use the rotary control to switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit. Press ESC to quit the Units submenu.

Miscellaneous Setup (Utility Menu): Select MODE Utility NEXT x2 Misc. Setup. Press ENTER. Press NEXT to switch between the submenu options. Press ESC to quit this mode.

Output Meters: No action - function not applicable to the RM2.

Temperature: A feature retained from the pro audio version of the device. It allows the current in-car temperature to be keyed in using the rotary control. The system uses this value to compensate for the variation in the speed of sound transmission when calculating time delay. This is far more applicable to professional PA applications, where it allows the delays to be set during the sound-check and adjusted automatically at the time of the concert if necessary.

One car application could be in autosound competition, if the temperature inside the vehicle changes dramatically from when the system was set-up. In reality the distances involved between speaker drive units in the car will almost certainly make temperature changes insignificant - but that doesn't stop you from impressing the hell out of the guy next to you who doesn't have a UCS PRO installed!

LCD Contrast: Adjust the contrast of the display using the rotary control - sometimes useful to compensate for different viewing angles.
