GETTING STARTED

POWER SOURCES

This unit operates on 4 X ‘AA’ (UM-3) batteries (not included) or external AC adaptor rated at DC7.5V, 1500mA (included). There is also a DC3V lithium battery, type CR2032 for clock and radio preset backing during main power outage.

Backup Battery

1.Be sure to remove the battery insulator tab on first use.

2.Please change to a fresh battery every 12 months to ensure proper backup function.

Battery Operation

1.Open the Main Battery Compartment door.

2.Following the polarity diagram as shown in the battery compartment, insert 4 X ‘AA’ (UM-3) alkaline batteries. Then close the battery door.

3.Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit.

AC Adaptor Operation

1. When the AC adaptor is connected to the DC jack,

the batteries are automatically disconnected. 2. Plug the AC adaptor into a AC120V 60Hz power

outlet. Be sure to use the included AC adaptor or one with a correct ratings and polarity.

After powering up the unit, a clock display will appear in the unit’s LCD panel. Then initalize the unit by pressing the Reset button adjacent to the Backup Battery Compartment before setting up the clock.

BASIC OPERATION

Turn on the unit by pressing the Power ON/OFF button either on the main unit or on the remote control.

Function modes (iPod/AUX/radio) can be changed by pressing the Function button on either the main unit or on the remote control.

The volume of the unit can be controlled by pressing the volume buttons on the main unit or on the remote.
