OPERATION

LISTENING TO THE RADIO

Press the POWER button 1 to turn the unit on. Press the TUNER/BAND button 2 to select radio; “TUNE” will appear in the display. Repeatedly press the TUNER/BAND button 2 to select AM or FM.

MANUAL TUNING: Repeatedly rotate and release the TUNE/SKIP/SEARCH control towards o or n to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears.

AUTOMATIC TUNING: Gently rotate and hold the TUNE/SKIP/SEARCH control towards o or n until the frequency in the dis- play starts to scan, and then release the con- trol; the tuner will search and then stop on the next strong station it finds. Repeat this step until the desired frequency appears.

Adjust the VOLUME control 1 and EQ button 2 as desired. Repeatedly press the EQ button 2 to cycle through the EQ settings as follows: ROCK, JAZZ, POP, CLASSIC(AL), (OFF).

FM: Press the FM MODE button to turn Stereo on or off. If a strong stereo station is broadcast- ing, “STEREO” will appear in the display. Noise present in FM broadcasts can be reduced by turning off Stereo.

NOTE: If the station is not broadcast in Stereo or the broadcast is not strong enough, “STEREO” will not appear in the display.

To turn the radio off, press the POWER button again.

ANTENNAS

AM–This unit has a built-in ferrite rod antenna, which provides adequate reception in most areas. If reception is weak, turn the unit to improve reception.

FM–The FM Antenna is for FM reception only. If reception is weak, adjust the length and the angle of the antenna.
