Built-in loudspeaker

The ARCHOS is equipped with a single speaker (ARCHOS 5) or two speakers (ARCHOS 7).

leg stand

Your ARCHOS is equipped with a leg stand, located on the back of the device.

Carefully pull it out, and it will allow your ARCHOS to stand by itself on a flat, stable surface.

first time usage

Charging the battery

Before using your ARCHOS for the first time, completely charge its battery:

5• Connect the USB cable to the ARCHOS and to a running computer.

7• Simply plug the ARCHOS Charger/Adapter into the power connector.

The ARCHOS will turn on and start charging:

-The CHG LED indicator is on while the battery is charging. It will blink when the battery is fully charged.

-A lightning bolt symbol will flash over the battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen while the battery is charging.

7Note that the ARCHOS has a removable battery. To learn how to replace it, see: Troubleshooting.

Press and hold the button to turn your ARCHOS on/off. See ARCHOS Description.

The green LED indicator lights up when the device is on.

The installation wizard

The first time you turn on the ARCHOS, the installation wizard will help you configure the main functions of your ARCHOS: the language, the WiFi connection, the clock, etc.

At the end of the wizard, you will be requested to register your product (a WiFi connection is required) so that you have access to our technical support as well as FREE and PURCHASABLE offers from our website and from the ARCHOS Media Club. Being registered will allow you, for example, to get the free ‘Web Browser’ and ‘Web TV & Radio’ plug-ins.
