Maintenance

•Sharpen the blade bevel when it becomes noticeably difficult to use the plane. To learn how to sharpen the blade, refer to books, magazines, or additional resources on the internet.

•Before storing the plane, remove the blade, wipe it down with an oily cloth, and store it in a dry place to prevent rusting.

•Lightly oil the unpainted cast iron surfaces of the plane and store in a sealed bag away from direct sunlight and damp environments.
