OTHER OPERATIONS

USB – Play and record

You can connect and play contents from your USB mass storage device.

Preparation

Before you connect a USB mass storage device to the system, make sure you do a backup of the data.

Do not use a USB extension cable. The unit cannot recognise USB mass storage devices connected through a cable.

Basic playback

1 Decrease the volume and connect the USB mass storage device to the USB port.

2 Press [4, USB] to start playback.

3 Press [MENU] to show the USB menu.

4 Press [R/T] to select an item and press [OK].

Refer to “Playing disc” (Z 11 to 13) for other operations.

Recording

Panasonic cannot be held responsible on the action of consumer to record copyrighted contents which can cause copyright infringement.

1 Select the source you want to record. Disc:

1.Put in the disc.

2.Press [4, DVD/CD] and then press [8] two times. Record specified tracks (Z 11, “Program playback”).

Tape:

1.Press [TAPE].

2.Put in the cassette tape.

3.Press [4, PLAY] to start playback.

Radio:

Tune in to the radio station (Z 16).

Music port or AUX:

Connect and play the equipment (Z 19).

Microphone:

Connect the microphone (Z 18).

2 Press [7, USB] to start recording. The USB recording indicator blinks.

The name of the group that keeps the recording is shown.

3 Press [8] to stop recording. “WRITING” is shown.

The recorded audio contents are kept in a group named “REC_DATA” in the USB mass storage device.

USB mass storage devices that support USB 2.0 full speed.

CBI (Control/Bulk/Interrupt) transfer is not supported.

NTFS file system is not supported (only FAT 12/16/32 file system is supported).

Depending on the sector size, some contents can fail to work.

Note:

All recordings are in .mp3 format.

A new group is added or made each time you do a recording.

You cannot do recording or delete contents when you are in "RESUME STOP" mode.

You cannot do recording when you are using random playback mode.

Repeat playback mode is off during recording.

Microphone input cannot be recorded during CD-DA to USB recording.
