1.1Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when you work near a lead-acid battery.

1.2Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin, clothing, or eyes. If acid enters the eye area, rinse with cold water for at least 10 minutes and get medical help immediately.

1.3Do not smoke, or use matches or cigarette lighter, or allow any spark or flame near the battery or engine.

1.4Never operate the jump starter if it has a damaged lead wire or clamps.

1.5Wear complete eye and clothing protection when working with any battery.

1.6Do not permit the internal battery of the Instant Power™ to freeze. A fully charged battery will not freeze - refer to the storage section of the manual.

1.7Never charge a frozen battery.

2.1WARNING: Handling the cord on this product or cords associated with this product, may expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of Califor- nia to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

3.operating instructions, using the quick connector clamps

3.1Use in a well-ventilated area.

3.2Keep clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other parts that may cause injury.

3.3To prevent sparking, NEVER allow clamps to touch together or contact the same piece of metal.

3.4Turn the vehicle’s ignition OFF before making cable connections.

3.5Make sure the ON/OFF switch on the IP-180KE is in the OFF position.

3.6Plug the clamp’s connector into the connector attached to the IP-180KE.

3.7Clamp the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal of the battery - For a negative grounded system. (See section 3.12 for a positive grounded system.)
