A note on the DSS 5 Restore Functionality

The DSS 5 restore operation allows for the restore of all settings in the settings file or just some of the settings. For example, all the settings other than the device list can be restored. Also, for settings that are lists such as folders, templates, and workflows, the restored settings can either replace

the current settings or be merged with the current settings in the list. See the System Administrators Guide for more detail.

Enabling .NET 3.51 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server

If you are running the DSS data collection utility on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server to collect data from an installation of DSS 4.25 then it may be necessary to enable .NET 3.51 on the server for the utility to run correctly.

If the data collection utility is run without .NET 3.51 being enabled then the administrator will see an exception in the command line output that looks like:

The following steps can be used to enable .NET 3.51 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. If you are unsure if this is necessary follow the first 5 steps and check the status of the checkbox. If the checkbox is already checked there is no need to continue with the rest of the steps.
