Bootworks Diskette, RILOE, and iLO with Virtual Floppy
As an alternative to PXE, target servers can connect to the Deployment Server by creating a physical Bootworks diskette with networking support. When booted, the diskette automatically connects to the Altiris Deployment Server. This diskette can be used in the physical diskette drive, or an image of the diskette can be booted through the Virtual Floppy feature of Remote Insight
The boot diskette must use an NDIS2 driver for network connectivity. For this reason, drivers for each type of NIC in your environment are required (for example, Intel® or Broadcom).
IMPORTANT: To use the Virtual Floppy feature of iLO, you must purchase a license key for the Integrated

Bootworks Partition
Similar to the Bootworks diskette mechanism, a hidden or embedded partition can be created on the hard drive of the server. When the partition is made active and booted, it automatically connects to the Deployment Server.
NOTE: The Bootworks Partition deployment mechanism is not recommended for initial deployments or scripted install redeployments.
