System Operation

The BendixVORAD® VS-400 collision warning system is powered by the vehicle’s ignition circuit and becomes active whenever the ignition key is switched to the ‘ON’ position.

BendixSmartCruise® adaptive cruise control is automatically engaged whenever the vehicle’s cruise control is activated. See BendixSmartCruise® adaptive cruise control section for more information.

Driver Interface Unit (DIU)

The driver interface unit provides visual and audible following alerts, along with system status information. The DIU also provides a user interface for changing system settings.
