Dipswitch Overview

This is a quick description of the dipswitch functions for the PXAMG in Nissan applications. If you are experiencing Seek or Tune control issues, or would like to change the operation of the “SEEK” and “TUNE” buttons, this section may be helpful to you.

Dipswitch 3

Reverses “SEEK” and “TUNE” button configurations; this is good for allowing the end user to configure the “SEEK” and “TUNE” buttons to their personal preference. For example: In the Armada/Pathfinder, the default setting for the HD Radio controls causes the Seek and Tune functions to be reversed. This is so the iPod controls can utilize the tuning knob to scroll through the browse menu. If you have purchased this kit mainly for HD Radio and not iPod, turning dipswitch 3 on will reverse the “SEEK” and “TUNE” commands to their respective buttons. However when this is done, turning the Tuning Knob on the radio clockwise will no longer do track forward or scroll through the browse menu in iPod mode, those commands have now been assigned to the “SEEK>>” button.

1. Disconnect Media Gateway from vehicle harness.

2. Turn on dipswitch #3 by moving it down.

3. Connect Media Gateway to vehicle harness.

5. Installation

1.When making electrical connections it is always recommended that the vehicle’s battery be disconnected from the electrical system before performing the installation.

2.Carefully remove the trim panels covering the bolts that secure the radio into

the dash cavity. Remove these bolts, and carefully pull the radio from the dash of the vehicle. This will provide access to the factory radio connectors where you will connect the Media Gateway harness.

3.Disconnect the factory 20-Pin and 12-Pin harnesses from the back of the radio. Disconnect the antenna from the radio.
