Health and safety information

tDo not expose the camera to direct sunlight or high temperatures for an extended period of time. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or extreme temperatures can cause permanent damage to your camera’s internal components.

tAvoid using or storing your camera in dusty, dirty, humid, or poorly-ventilated areas to prevent damage to moving parts and internal components.

tRemove the batteries from your camera when storing it for an extended period of time. Installed batteries may leak or corrode over time and cause serious damage to your camera.

tProtect your camera from sand and dirt when using it on beaches or in other similar areas.

tProtect your camera and monitor from impact, rough handling, and excessive vibration to avoid serious damage.

tExercise caution when connecting cables or adapters and installing batteries and memory cards. Forcing the connectors, improperly connecting cables, or improperly installing batteries and memory cards can damage ports, connectors, and accessories.

tDo not insert foreign objects into any of your camera’s compartments, slots, or access points. Damage due to improper use may not be covered by your warranty.

Protect batteries, chargers, and memory cards from damage

tAvoid exposing batteries or memory cards to very cold or very hot temperatures (below 0º C/32º F or above 40º C/104º F). Extreme temperatures can reduce the charging capacity of your batteries and can cause memory cards to malfunction.

tPrevent batteries from making contact with metal objects, as this can create a connection between the + and – terminals of your battery and lead to temporary or permanent battery damage.

tPrevent memory cards from making contact with liquids, dirt, or foreign substances. If dirty, wipe the memory card clean with a soft cloth before inserting in your camera.

tDo not allow liquids, dirt, or foreign substances to come in contact with the memory card slot. Doing so may cause the camera to malfunction.

tTurn off the camera when inserting or removing the memory card.

tDo not bend, drop, or subject memory cards to heavy impact or pressure.

tDo not use memory cards that have been formatted by other cameras or by a computer. Reformat the memory card with your camera.

tNever use a damaged charger, battery, or memory card.

At the heart of the ST500 series is a robust 12.2-megapixel resolution, allowing for stunning high-quality images with exceptional clarity. The cameras come equipped with a powerful 5x optical zoom lens, making it easy to capture distant subjects without sacrificing image quality. This feature is particularly useful for outdoor photography and sports events where maintaining proximity to the action is not always possible.

One of the standout technologies integrated into the ST500 series is the Smart Auto mode. This intelligent feature analyzes the environment and automatically adjusts settings such as exposure, focus, and white balance. Whether you're shooting in bright daylight, low light, or even under challenging conditions, the Smart Auto mode ensures optimal results by taking the guesswork out of photography.

The ST500 series models also offer innovative features like Face Detection, which identifies and optimizes faces in photographs, ensuring that your subjects are always in focus. In terms of photography flexibility, the ST500 series includes various scene modes, allowing users to choose from options like Portrait, Landscape, Night, and more. These preset modes help users achieve desired visual effects, even if they lack extensive photographic knowledge.

The camera series is further complemented by a 3-inch touchscreen display, which simplifies navigation through menus and settings. This vibrant LCD screen provides clear previews of shots, ensuring that users can frame their subjects accurately.

Moreover, the ST500 series features HD video recording, allowing users to capture high-definition video clips with impressive detail. This extends the capabilities of the camera beyond still photography, enabling users to document life’s precious moments in motion.
