Structure of folders and files on the storage media

The folder and file structure for storage media is as follows:

The file naming follows DCF (Design rule for Camera File System).

Video file (H.264)

The HD-quality videos have HDV_####.MP4 format.

The SD-quality videos have SDV_####.MP4 format.

The file number automatically increases when a new video file is created.

A new folder is created when the file number is reached to 9,999.

• The folder names are given in order of 100VIDEO, 101VIDEO. The maximum number of the folders is 999.

• The maximum of 9,999 files can be created in a storage media by using the camcorder.

Photo file

• As in video files, the file number automatically increases when a new photo file is created.

• The photos have SAM_####.JPG format.

The folder names are given in order of 100PHOTO, 101PHOTO.

File format

Video files

Video files are compressed in H.264 format. The file extension is “.MP4.”

Refer to page 62 for the video resolution.

Photo files

Photo images are compressed in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format. The file extension is “.JPG.”

Refer to page 62 for the photo resolution.

The name of a video file recorded by the camcorder should not be modified, since proper playback by
