50-860 specifications

The Delta 50-860 is a highly regarded oscillating spindle sander, designed to meet the needs of woodworking enthusiasts and professionals alike. This machine stands out for its ability to provide smooth and precise sanding, making it an essential addition to any workshop.

One of the main features of the Delta 50-860 is its powerful 1.5 HP motor, which delivers ample power to the sander for efficient operation. This robust motor enables the machine to handle various spindle sizes and sanding tasks, from small intricate designs to larger surfaces, without lagging or losing power. The sander operates at a speed of 1725 RPM, ensuring a smooth finish on your workpieces.

Another vital characteristic of the Delta 50-860 is its 6 included sanding spindle sizes, ranging from 1/4 inch to 2 inches. This versatility allows users to tackle a wide range of projects, from intricate cabinetry to larger furniture items. The spindles are easy to change, enabling quick switching between different sanding needs, which enhances productivity in the workshop.

The machine also incorporates a sturdy, durable cast iron table that provides a stable work surface. This heavy-duty construction contributes to the overall stability of the sander, reducing vibrations and allowing for greater control during sanding. The table features an adjustment mechanism, enabling you to tilt it for bevel sanding, adding to the versatility of the sander.

Additionally, the Delta 50-860 features an efficient dust collection system that helps maintain a clean workspace. A dust port can be connected to a standard shop vacuum, effectively capturing sawdust and debris generated during sanding. This feature not only promotes a cleaner environment but also contributes to better visibility while working.

With dimensions of 19 x 24 inches, the sander's compact design makes it suitable for various shop sizes, providing powerful performance without requiring excessive space. The overall weight of the machine ensures it remains stable during operation, minimizing movement and enhancing safety.

In summary, the Delta 50-860 oscillating spindle sander combines power, versatility, and precision. Its robust features and thoughtful design make it an indispensable tool for any woodworking project, whether you are a hobbyist or a professional woodworker looking to achieve exceptional finishes.
