RACK MOUNTING

The TMP-1 fits into one standard 19" rack unit of space (1 3/4"). Parts of the unit can become very warm during use. This is normal during operation. Care should be taken to ensure that there is enough space around the unit for cooling (at least 12” or 30cm). Do not place the TMP-1 on high temperature devices such as power amplifiers, etc., or the unit may overheat in operation. Also, do not place the unit on speakers as this may cause them to move and/or fall due to speaker vibrations.

Although the unit’s chassis is shielded against radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), extremely high fields of RF and EMI should be avoided.

POWER CONNECTION

The TMP-1 has an internal power supply and is designed to operate from an external AC source. Power requirements for electrical equipment differ from area to area. Be sure to confirm that the voltage selected by the voltage selector switch on the back panel is proper for your area (120VAC/60 Hz or 230VAC/50Hz) per the information below:

Europe (except UK): 230V, 50Hz

UK and Australia: 240V, 50Hz

USA and Canada: 120V, 60 Hz

For other areas, please check with local authorities.

When ready to operate, plug the AC cord into the power source. Make sure that the unit is turned off before connecting to the AC power source to avoid possible loud transients which can damage your speakers or your ears, especially when monitoring with headphones.

The Nady Systems TMP-1 MICPREAMP stands out as a versatile and dependable microphone preamplifier designed for both studio and live sound applications. Its compact design and robust features make it an essential tool for audio professionals seeking high-quality sound capture and enhanced microphone performance.

At the heart of the TMP-1 is a high-performance preamp circuit that delivers an impressive gain range of up to 60 dB, allowing it to amplify even the quietest sound sources without introducing unwanted noise or distortion. This capability is especially beneficial for capturing delicate vocals or intricate musical nuances, ensuring clarity and fidelity in every recording.

One of the key features of the TMP-1 is its low self-noise floor, measured at just 6 dB, which enhances its performance in both quiet studio settings and dynamic live environments. This characteristic ensures that the audio captured is true to the original sound, making it ideal for professional audio applications. The TMP-1 also incorporates an input impedance of 2 kOhm, which provides optimal loading for most dynamic and condenser microphones, ensuring a rich and full frequency response.

The preamp is equipped with a switchable low-cut filter, allowing users to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise and rumble. This feature is particularly useful when recording in less-than-ideal environments or when dealing with high-output sound sources. The low-cut filter can be easily engaged, giving users the flexibility they need to achieve the best sound possible.

Another notable aspect of the TMP-1 is its power supply versatility. It can operate on 48V phantom power, making it compatible with a wide range of condenser microphones. Additionally, its compact and robust design allows for easy mounting in rack systems, making it an ideal choice for mobile recording setups or permanent installations.

The overall build quality of the TMP-1 is commendable, with a durable chassis that can withstand the rigors of road use while maintaining its reliability in the studio. Its user-friendly interface includes intuitive gain and level controls, making it accessible for both seasoned audio engineers and beginners alike.
