Safety Information

NOTE: Always allow adequate clearance around air openings into the combustion chamber and maintain accessibility clearances for servicing and proper operation.

2.1 General Safety (Home Owner)

Cleaning. To clean the appliance, make sure it is off and cold. Then remove the logs and use a vacuum to clean the burner and air openings in the bottom and back of the appliance. Replace the logs.

Fire Extinguisher. Every home should have at least one fire extinguisher. An approved Class A-B-C extinguisher should be mounted on the wall near an exit and close to the appliance, but not so close that accessibility to the extinguisher could be blocked by a fire. Your local Fire Department can advise you concerning the most appropriate location.

Smoke Detectors & Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Install at least one smoke detector on each floor of your home to ensure your safety.
