For estimating sound pressure from the unit at different distances, deduct the following from the unit values: 20 feet, deduct 6 dBA for 40 feet, deduct 12 dBA for 80 feet, deduct 18 dBA. This data is typical of “free field” conditions for horizontal air cooled condensing

units at the outlet of the discharge air. The actual sound measurements may vary depending on the condensing unit installation. Factors such as reflecting walls, background noise and mounting conditions may have a significant influence on this data.
