STEP 1. Remove the Old Thermostat.

CAUTION

To prevent electrical shock and/or equipment damage, disconnect electric power to system at main fuse or circuit breaker box until installation is complete.

Thermostat Components

Most thermostats consist of three basic parts.

1.Cover

2.Base, which you can remove by loosening all screws

3.Wall plate, which you can remove by unscrewing the mounting screws that hold it on the wall or adaptor plate
