INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new blender, please read through these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your blender.
SAFETY MEASURES
Normal use of the blender
•Incorrect use of the blender may cause personal injury and damage to the blender.
•Use the blender for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).
•The blender may only be connected to 230 V, 50 Hz.
•The base of the blender or cord must not be submerged in water or any other liquid.
•Do not operate with wet or damp hands. Make sure that no liquid gets into the base.
•Never leave the blender unattended when in use and keep an eye on children.
•The blade must be handled with care, as it is extremely sharp.
•NEVER insert your fingers, kitchen utensils or similar into the blender jug while the blender is running or is connected to the mains.
•Never remove the lid or filler cap from the blender jug while the blender is running.
•Do not leave the blender running for more than 1 minute at a time. If it has been running for 1 minute, you should leave it to cool down before using it again.
•Never use the blender if the jug is empty.
•Not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.
•Take care that the lid does not come off during operation, especially if the glass is full or if you are blending hot liquids. To avoid the lid coming off, place a tea towel over the lid and hold it tight against the lid.
•This appliance is provided with a safety switch to prevent starting the appliance unintentionally. Only deactivate the safety switch, if the appliance is completely and correctly assembled, and all parts have been fitted as described in the user guide.
Otherwise the appliance cannot be switched on! We recommend you carefully check the assembly of the appliance, if the appliance cannot be started.
Positioning the blender
•Always place the blender at the back of the kitchen counter.
•Do not place the blender next to hot areas, for example gas rings and electric hotplates.
•Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a table/counter, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.
Cord, plug and mains socket
•Ensure that the cord is fully extended.
•Check regularly that the cord and plug are not damaged and do not use the blender if they are, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
•If the blender, cord or plug is damaged, the blender must be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by an authorised repair engineer, otherwise there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to repair the blender yourself.
•Unplug the blender before replacing the blender jug with the coffee/spice mill and vice versa, before removing the lid from the jug or the mill, before cleaning, and when the blender is not in use.
•Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
•Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the blender cord or any extension cord.
