Gas connection

Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or gas supplier.

In Massachusetts a licensed plumber / gas fitter is required.

This appliance must be installed with its own shut off valve and the included gas pressure regulator. Both the valve and the regulator must be easily accessible to the consumer to turn on or shut off the gas supply after the appliance is installed.

This appliance and its individual shut off valve must be disconnected from the gas supply during any pressure testing of that system performed in excess of ½ psi

(3.5 kPa). The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply line by closing its individual manual shut off valve at test pressures equal to or less than ½ psi (3.5 kPa).

Any pipe connections must be made using a thread sealant approved for gas connections. Failure to correctly install these items could lead to a gas leak and subsequent explosion.

The gas connection must be made in accordance with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with

-the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z 21.1 / NFPA 54

for the USA

or

-the current Can / CGA B 149.1 and .2 Installation Codes for gas burning appliances for Canada.

Make sure that the maximum gas supply pressure before the gas pressure regulator is never more than ½ psi for both natural gas or LP gas.

The minimum required gas pressure to get the required gas input is

4" w.c. for natural gas 10" w.c. for LP gas.

KM 391 specifications

The Miele KM 391 is a premium induction cooktop that exemplifies the brand's commitment to quality, innovation, and user-friendly design. This sleek appliance boasts a range of features that not only enhance cooking efficiency but also improve safety and ease of use.

One of the standout features of the KM 391 is its induction cooking technology. This method uses electromagnetic fields to directly heat the cookware, offering rapid temperature control and energy efficiency. Induction cooking is known for its speed, with water boiling in just a matter of seconds, making it ideal for those who demand quick meal preparation. Additionally, since the cooktop itself remains relatively cool while cooking, the risk of burns or accidental fires is significantly reduced.

The KM 391 also comes equipped with a variety of intelligent cooking functions that cater to various culinary needs. The PowerFlex feature allows for flexible cooking by combining multiple induction zones into a larger cooking surface, which is perfect for accommodating larger pots and pans. Moreover, the cooktop has a temperature control system that ensures precise heat management, giving users the confidence to prepare delicate dishes or sear meats with perfection.

Another significant aspect of the Miele KM 391 is its ease of cleaning. The smooth glass-ceramic surface is not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to wipe clean after use. Since spills do not burn onto the surface as they would with traditional gas or electric cooktops, maintaining the appliance requires minimal effort.

Safety is paramount in the design of the KM 391. The cooktop features a child safety lock, preventing unintended activation, and an automatic shut-off function that turns off the cooking zones after a period of inactivity. This not only enhances safety but provides peace of mind for busy households.

The design of the Miele KM 391 seamlessly integrates into modern kitchens. With its minimalist look and intuitive touch controls, the cooktop offers an elegant solution without compromising functionality. The unit is also designed to be installed flush with the countertop, giving a sleek and professional appearance.

In summary, the Miele KM 391 is an exceptional induction cooktop that combines advanced technology, safety features, and an aesthetically pleasing design. Its versatility and ease of use make it an invaluable tool for both amateur cooks and culinary professionals alike. Whether you’re boiling pasta, simmering sauces, or searing meats, the KM 391 delivers outstanding performance with every use.
