Product Overview

The TDK RF Solutions LPDA-8003 Log Periodic Dipole Antenna is a new generation compact antenna used for transmitting and receiving broadband radio signals. It is especially suited for dual band communication testing where the antenna must not interfere with the measurement environment. The LPDA-8003 provides optimal performance over the wide operating frequency range of 800 MHz to 3 GHz. The LPDA-8003 features reduced cross polarization, improved pattern symmetry, and moderate power handling capability, making it an excellent choice for both communications testing as well as the most stringent metrology applications.

Leading-Edge Design The LPDA-8003’s com- pact design features a reduced boom size which results in excellent cross polarization rejection. The antenna’s patent-pending balun design provides improved pattern symmetry and a low VSWR.

LPDA-8003 specifications

The TDK LPDA-8003 is a high-performance wideband log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) antenna designed for a variety of applications, including wireless communication, broadcasting, and telemetry. This antenna is characterized by its wide frequency range, exceptional gain, and excellent radiation patterns that ensure signal integrity across diverse environments.

One of the most notable features of the LPDA-8003 is its frequency range, which spans from 800 MHz to 3000 MHz. This broad spectrum makes it suitable for various applications such as GSM, LTE, DCS, PCS, and UMTS networks. Its wide operational bandwidth allows users to cover multiple frequency bands without the need for multiple antennas, simplifying installation and reducing costs.

The design of the LPDA-8003 incorporates advanced technologies that enhance its performance. It features a log-periodic structure that provides a high degree of frequency selectivity and efficiency in radiation. This design principle ensures that the antenna maintains stable gain and directivity across its extensive frequency range. The antenna's dipole elements are optimally spaced and proportioned, maximizing operational bandwidth while minimizing signal loss.

Another key characteristic of the LPDA-8003 is its high gain level. With gain figures that typically reach up to 10 dBi, the antenna is capable of providing superior signal amplification, making it ideal for long-range communications. The high gain contributes to increased signal-to-noise ratios, thereby improving overall system performance, particularly in environments where signals may be weak or subject to interference.

The LPDA-8003 is engineered for durability and reliability. Its robust construction ensures that it can withstand harsh environmental conditions, making it suitable for outdoor deployments. The materials used are resistant to corrosion, UV exposure, and mechanical stress, which significantly extends the lifespan of the antenna.

Installation of the TDK LPDA-8003 is straightforward due to its lightweight and compact design. It is easy to mount on various structures, including masts, towers, and rooftops. Additionally, the antenna’s versatility allows it to be used in various configurations, including omnidirectional or directional setups, depending on the specific needs of the application.

In summary, the TDK LPDA-8003 is a versatile and high-performance log-periodic dipole array antenna that combines wide frequency coverage, high gain, and robust construction. Its advanced design and technologies make it an excellent choice for telecommunications and other wireless applications, providing reliable performance and adaptability to evolving signal needs.
