The SRX700 speakers covered by this manual are not intended for fixed installation in outdoor or high moisture environments. Moisture can damage the speaker cone and surround and cause corrosion of electrical contacts and metal parts. Avoid exposing the speakers to direct moisture. Keep speakers out of extended or intense direct sunlight. The driver suspension will prematurely dry out and finished surfaces may be degraded by long-term exposure to intense ultra-violet (UV) light.

SRX700 speakers can generate considerable energy. When placed on a slippery surface such as polished wood or linoleum, the speaker may move due to its acoustical energy output. Precautions should be taken to assure that the speaker does not fall off a stage or table on which it is placed.

Stand mounting safety precautions

Some SRX700 models include a 35 mm receptacle cup to allow mounting on tripod stands or on a pole over subwoofers. When using stands or poles, be sure to observe the following precautions:

;Check the stand or pole specification to be certain the device is designed to support the weight of the speaker. Observe all safety precautions specified by the manufacturer.

;Always verify that the stand (or subwoofer / pole) is placed on a flat, level, and stable surface and be sure to fully extend the legs of tripod type stands. Position the stand so that the legs do not present a trip hazard.

;Route cables so that performers, production crew, and audience will not trip and topple the speakers over.

;Inspect the stand (or pole and associated hardware) before each use and do not use equipment with worn, damaged, or missing parts.

;Do not attempt to place more than one SRX700 speaker on a stand or pole.

;Always be cautious in windy, outdoor conditions. It may be necessary to place additional weight (i.e. sand bags) on the base of the stand to improve stability. Avoid attaching banners or similar items to any part of a speaker system. Such attachments could act as a sail and topple the system.

;Unless you are confident that you can handle the weight of the speaker, ask another person to help you get it onto the tripod stand or pole.

Hearing damage, prolonged exposure to excessive SPL

SRX700 loudspeakers are easily capable of generating sound pressure levels (SPL) sufficient to cause perma- nent hearing damage to performers, production crew and audience members. Caution should be taken to avoid prolonged exposure to SPL in excess of 90 dB.

SRX700 specifications

The JBL SRX700 series is a line of professional loudspeakers that has been designed for a variety of applications, including live sound reinforcement, installations, and portable use. Known for its high-performance capabilities, the SRX700 series delivers exceptional audio quality and durability, catering to the needs of sound engineers and audio professionals alike.

One of the standout features of the JBL SRX700 series is its advanced transducer technology. Each speaker is equipped with JBL’s proprietary components, including high-performance woofers and compression drivers. This ensures that users experience a wide frequency response with minimal distortion, allowing for crisp highs and deep, powerful lows. The series is designed to deliver a maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level) that is suitable for large venues, making it an ideal choice for concerts, festivals, and corporate events.

The SRX700 series incorporates JBL’s DuraFlex™ finish, which is a rugged, protective exterior designed to withstand the rigors of touring and installation. The cabinets are made from high-quality plywood, which contributes to the durability of the speakers while reducing unwanted resonance that can color the sound. Each model is also equipped with integrated rigging points, allowing for easy suspension in a variety of configurations.

Another key technology in the SRX700 series is the built-in digital signal processing (DSP). This feature enables users to fine-tune the audio performance through advanced algorithms, providing presets that enhance the acoustics depending on the venue and application. The DSP also includes EQ adjustments, time alignment, and crossover settings, ensuring optimal audio output that meets the specific needs of any sound system.

The series consists of various model options, including both active and passive configurations. The active models come with built-in amplifiers that precisely match the speakers’ specifications, ensuring efficient power management and performance consistency. The passive models allow more flexible integration with existing sound systems, making the SRX700 a versatile choice for diverse sound reinforcement applications.

In conclusion, the JBL SRX700 series combines advanced transducer technology, durable construction, and sophisticated digital signal processing to deliver high-quality audio performance. Its flexibility and reliability make it a popular choice among audio professionals looking to elevate their sound reinforcement capabilities. Whether used for live events or installed systems, the SRX700 series is engineered to meet the demands of even the most discerning listeners.
