CONNECTION TIPS

Speakers and electronics terminals have corresponding (+) and (–) terminals. It is important to connect both speakers identically: (+) on the speaker to

(+) on the amplifier and (–) on the

speaker to (–) on the amplifier. Wiring “out of phase” results in thin sound, weak bass and a poor stereo image. With the advent of multichannel surround sound systems, connecting all of the speakers in your system with the correct polarity remains equally important in order to preserve the proper ambience and directionality of the program material.

To use the binding-post speaker terminals, unscrew the collar until the pass-through hole in the center post is visible under

the collar. Insert the bare end of the wire through this hole; then screw the collar down until the connection is tight. The hole in the center of each collar is intended for use with banana- type connectors.

If there is no sound from any of the speakers:

Check that receiver/amplifier is on and that a source is playing.

Review proper operation of your receiver/amplifier.

Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none

of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.

If the system plays at low volumes but shuts off as volume is increased:

Check all wires and con- nections between receiver/ amplifier and speakers.

Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.

If more than one pair of main speakers is being used, check the minimum impedance

requirements of your receiver/ amplifier.

If there is no sound coming from one speaker:

Check the “Balance” control on your receiver/amplifier.

Check all wires and connec- tions between receiver/amplifier and speakers. Make sure no wires are touching other wires or terminals and creating a short circuit.

Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.

In Dolby* Digital or DTS® mode, make sure that the receiver/ processor is configured so that the speaker in question is enabled.

Turn off all electronics and switch the speaker in question with one of the other speakers

that is working correctly. Turn everything back on, and determine whether the problem is in the same place, i.e., the speaker that was working previously now has no sound and the speaker that was not working now sounds fine; or whether it has moved, i.e., the speaker that was not working still has no sound and the speaker that was working is still fine. If the problem is in the same place, the source of the problem is most likely with your receiver or amplifier, and you should consult the owner’s manual for that product for further information. If the problem has followed the speaker, consult your dealer for further assistance or, if that is not possible, visit our Web site at www.jbl.com for further information.

S36AWII, S36II specifications

The JBL S36II and S36AWII are notable entries in JBL's line of high-performance loudspeakers, designed to elevate the audio experience in both home and outdoor environments. Renowned for their impressive sound reproduction and robust build quality, these speakers are tailored for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

The JBL S36II is equipped with advanced technologies that ensure clear, dynamic sound across a range of frequencies. One of its standout features is the 6.5-inch woofer, which provides deep, rich bass response while maintaining clarity in higher frequencies. This woofer is complemented by a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter that delivers crisp high notes and enhances the overall soundstage, resulting in an immersive audio experience whether you're listening to music, watching movies, or gaming.

The design of the S36II emphasizes both aesthetics and functionality. Its sleek cabinet construction minimizes resonance, ensuring that audio playback remains pure and true to the original recording. The elegant finish allows it to blend seamlessly into any room decor, whether in a dedicated home theater setup or as part of a stereo system.

On the other hand, the JBL S36AWII is specifically designed for outdoor use, offering similar acoustic features while boasting enhanced weather resistance. The rugged enclosure protects the speaker from environmental elements, making it suitable for patios, gardens, and poolside areas. Its UV-resistant materials ensure longevity and performance even under direct sunlight.

Both models feature JBL's proprietary technology, such as the Image Control Waveguide, which helps optimize the stereo imaging and creates a broad soundstage. This technology aids in delivering consistent sound, regardless of your listening position in the room or outdoor space. The integration of advanced crossover components ensures that the speakers efficiently manage the distribution of frequencies, resulting in a balanced sound output.

In summary, the JBL S36II and S36AWII embody the brand's commitment to high-quality audio, marrying innovative technologies with superior craftsmanship. Whether indoors or outdoors, these speakers provide an exceptional audio experience, making them ideal choices for music enthusiasts and home entertainment aficionados seeking both quality and durability.
