CleaningYourRefrigerator

Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically. But both should be cleaned about once a month to help prevent odors from building up. Spills should be wiped up right away.

To clean your refrigerator, turn the Refrigerator Control to OFF, unplug it, take out all removable parts and clean it according to the following directions.

PART

Removable parts (shelves, crisper, meat drawer, etc.)

Outside

Inside walls (freezer should be allowed to warm up so cloth won’t stick)

Door liners and gaskets

Plastic parts (covers and panels)

Defrost pan

(behind refrigerator on top of the motor)

Condenser coils

Floor under refrigerator

WHAT TO USE

l Sponge or cloth

lMild detergent l Warm water

l Sponge, cloth or paper towel

lMild detergent l Warm water

l Appliance wax (or good auto paste wax)

l Sponge, soft cloth or paper towel

l Baking soda or mild detergent

lWarm water

l Sponge, soft cloth or paper towel

lMild detergent l Warm water

l Soft, clean sponge or soft, clean cloth

lMild detergent l Warm water

l Sponge or cloth

lMild detergent l Warm water

l Vacuum cleaner with extended narrow attachment

lFloor cleaners

HOW TO CLEAN

lWash.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

l Wash outside of cabinet. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

l Wax painted metal surfaces at least twice a year. Apply wax with a clean, soft cloth.

Waxing painted metal surfaces provides rust protection. Do not wax plastic parts.

lWash with a mixture of warm water and

- mild detergent, or

-baking soda (2 tablespoons [26 g] to 1 quart [.95 L] of water)

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

DO NOT USE cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing uetroleum on plastic parts.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

DO NOT USE paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids. These can scratch or damage material. See

“Important Safety Instructions” on page 3.

lRoll refrigerator out away from the wall.

l Wash defrost pan. Do not remove defrost pan to clean.

lRinse and dry thoroughly.

l Roll refrigerator back into place.

lCheck to see if refrigerator is level.

lRoll refrigerator out away from the wall.

l Vacuum coils at least once every other month.

l Roll refrigerator back into place. Leave 1 inch

(2.5 cm) between wall and condenser coils on back of refrigerator.

lCheck to see if the refrigerator is level.

lRoll refrigerator out away from the wall. l Clean floor.

l Roll refrigerator back into place.

l Check to see if the refrigerator is level.
