Cookware tips

There is no one brand of cooking utensil that is best for all people. Knowing something about pan materials and construction will help you select the correct cooking utensils for your needs.

l For best results and greater energy efficiency, use only flat-bottomed utensils that make good contact with the surface units. To check the flatness of a utensil:

-Turn it over and check the bottom of the pan by placing a ruler across it.

-Rotate the ruler in all directions. There should be no gaps between the pan and the ruler.

NOTE: Woks, canners and teakettles with flat bottoms suitable for use on your cooktop are now available in most houseware stores or departments.

l The pan should have straight sides and a tight- fitting lid.

l Choose medium to heavy gauge (thickness) pans that are fairly lightweight. Remember that a very heavy pan will be even heavier when filled with food.

9 The pan material (metal or glass) affects how fast heat transfers from the surface unit through the pan material and how evenly heat spreads over the pan bottom. Choose pans that provide the best cooking results.

l Handles should be made of a sturdy, heat- resistant material and be securely attached to the pan.

lDo not leave an empty utensil, or one which has boiled dry, on a hot surface unit. It can overheat and may damage the utensil or surface unit.

l Do not use canners, woks and specialty utensils with rounded, warped, ridged or dented bottoms. These could cause severe overheat- ing which damages the utensil and/or surface unit.

Product Damage Hazard

If a surface unit stays red for a long time,

the bottom of the pan is not flat enough or is too small for the surface unit. Prolonged usage of incorrect utensils can result in damage to the surface unit, cooktop, wiring and surrounding areas. To prevent damage, use correct utensils, start cooking on HI and turn control down to continue cooking.

Home canning information

The large diameter of most water-bath or pressure canners combined with high heat settings for long periods of time can shorten the life of regular surface units and cause damage to the cook-top.

If you plan to use the cooktop for canning, we recommend the installation of a Canning Kit. Order the kit (Part No. 242905) from your Whirlpool dealer or authorized Whirlpools” service company.

To protect your range:

l Use flat-bottomed canners/pans for best results.

l For best results, use the largest surface unit. Also, use a canner/pan which can be centered over the surface unit and which does not extend more than 1 inch outside surface unit area. Large diamater canners/pans, if not properly centered, trap heat and can cause damage to the cooktop.

l Do not place canner on two surface units at the same time. Excessive heat build-up will damage the cooktop.

l Start with hot water. This reduces the time the control is set on high. Reduce heat setting to lowest posaion needed to keep water boiling.

l Keep reflector bowls clean for best heat reflection.

lTo prolong the life of the elements:

-Prepare small batches at a time.

-Do not use elements for canning all day.

RC8200XY, RC8400XY specifications

Whirlpool has long been a household name in appliances, and their RC8400XY and RC8200XY models exemplify the brand's commitment to innovation and reliability in the realm of tumble dryers. These models are designed to cater to different consumer needs while maintaining a standard of quality that Whirlpool is known for.

The RC8400XY is equipped with a unique 6th SENSE technology, which automatically detects the moisture level of your laundry. This feature allows the dryer to adjust the drying time accordingly, ensuring that your clothes are protected from over-drying while saving energy. With a load capacity of up to 8 kg, it is suitable for families and larger households, helping to expedite the laundry process.

On the other hand, the RC8200XY offers a slightly smaller capacity of 7 kg, making it ideal for smaller families or apartments. Despite its reduced size, it does not compromise on efficiency. Like its counterpart, the RC8200XY incorporates advanced drying technologies, including a sensor drying system that monitors the laundry, providing optimal drying performance while maintaining garment care.

Both models stand out for their user-friendly interfaces and robust build quality. The intuitive control panel allows users to select among various drying programs tailored for different types of fabrics, such as delicates, cotton, and mixed loads. This versatility ensures that users can achieve the best possible results, no matter the fabric type.

Energy efficiency is another hallmark of both models, with their inclusion of an A+ energy rating. This rating signifies that the dryers help in reducing energy consumption, leading to lower utility bills while also being environmentally friendly. The C energy label underlines Whirlpool's commitment to producing appliances that meet regulatory standards while minimizing carbon footprints.

Another notable feature of both the RC8400XY and RC8200XY is their low noise levels during operation, thanks to the advanced sound insulation techniques employed in their design. This makes them ideal for use in open-plan living spaces or during nighttime hours without causing disturbance.

In conclusion, the Whirlpool RC8400XY and RC8200XY models embody a blend of efficiency, advanced technology, and user-centric design. With features like 6th SENSE technology, precise sensor drying, and energy efficiency, both dryers are excellent additions to any household looking to streamline the laundry process while caring for their garments. Whether opting for the RC8400XY or the slightly smaller RC8200XY, consumers can rest assured that they are investing in a quality product that stands the test of time.
