Operation of the

Mr. Coffee¨ French

Press

1 Place your Mr. Coffee French Press on a dry, flat, non-slip surface. Holding the handle firmly, pull the plunger straight up and out of the pot.

2 Place coffee in pot, following the recommended tablespoons per cup from your coffee package. The included coffee scoop is equal to 1 1/2 tablespoons.

3 Pour hot water into the pot, leaving at least 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon.

4 Place plunger on top of the pot and press down slightly to position plunger only. Do not press down plunger completely. Turn the lid to close the spout opening.

Let the coffee steep for 4 to 5 minutes.

5 Hold the French Press handle firmly with the spout turned away from you. Then using just the weight of your other hand, slowly apply slight pressure to the top of the knob to lower the plunger down into the pot. Lowering the plunger slowly with minimal pressure produces the best results. If the filter becomes clogged or the plunger becomes difficult to push down, remove the plunger from the pot, stir the coffee and then slowly plunge again.

6 Turn the lid to the open spout position and then pour coffee.

(Note: French Press coffee may result in more sediment than traditional brewing methods. For best result and to minimize sediment, a coarse even ground is recommended.)

To Clean the French Press

7 Using the plunger knob, twist to unscrew post from screen assembly. Wash each part in warm soapy water. Make sure plunger is fully reassembled before brewing another cup of coffee.

WARNING: Always follow these precautions to avoid serious injury.

Not for use by children. Do not use on stovetop.

Use on non-slip surfaces only.

Use only coarse ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter and create high pressure.

Check glass pot for scratches, cracks or chips before each use. Do not use pot which is scratched, chipped or cracked.

Avoid using excessive force when pressing down plunger. Excessive force can cause hot liquid to

shoot out of the pot.

Avoid using metal spoons or scoops. Metal can scratch or chip glass pot and cause breakage.

a 1 1/2 cucharadas.
