IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, includ- ing the following:

Read all instructions carefully.

Do not touch hot surfaces - use handles or knobs.

To protect against electrical hazards, do not allow water or other liquids to spill onto the plug or cord, or to enter the switch mecha- nism or power cord inlet socket. Do not immerse cord, plug, or the outer pot in water or other liquids.

Always use Rice Cooker on a dry, level sur- face. Never put liquid into the outer pot, only into the inner pot.

Lift and open Lid carefully to avoid scalding, and allow water to drip into rice cooker.

Never plug in without the inner pot inside the outer pot.

Close supervision is necessary when an electrical appliance is used by, or near chil- dren.

The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards.

Unplug from outlet when not in use; allow to cool before disassembling parts and before cleaning.

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot water or other liquids.

Do not use outdoors.

Do not operate any appliance with a dam- aged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped, or dam- aged in any manner. Return the complete appliance to your nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

Do not place any part of this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

To disconnect, raise the lever to “WARM” then remove plug from outlet.

Do not allow cord to hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

Keep the space between the inner bowl and the heating plate clean and free form any foreign particles.

Do not use appliance for other than intend- ed use of food preparation and service. This appliance is intended for household use only.

POLARIZED PLUG (North American Models Only)

This appliance has a polarized plug—one blade is wider than the other. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug in any way.

ELECTRICAL CORD

The cord of this appliance was selected to reduce the possibility of tangling in or tripping over a longer cord. If more length is needed, use an Underwriters Laboratories (UL)-Listed, NOM, or appropriate agency-approved exten- sion cord rated no less than 15-amperes and 120 volts (6 amps/230 volts). When using an extension cord, do not let it drape over the working area or dangle where someone could accidentally trip over it. Handle cord carefully for longer life; avoid jerking or straining it at outlet and appliance connections.
