SPLITTEROPERATION
1. Setupthelogsplitterinaclear,levelareaandblockthewheels.Thesuctionportonthetankshould alwaysbeonthelowersideofthelogsplitter.
2. Placealogonthebeam,againstthefootplate.Makesurethelogissecurelyonthefootplateandup againstthebeam.
3. Depressthevalveleversothatthecylinderwilldrivethepushblockintothelog.Extendthecylinder untilthelogsplitsortotheendofitsstroke.Iftheloghasnotcompletelysplitafterthecylinderhas reachedtheendofitsextension,retractthecylinder.NOTE:Leavingthevalveinthe“actuate”position attheendofthestrokemaydamagethepump.Alwaysuseextracarewhensplittinglogswithendsthat arenotsquare.
NOTE:Toextendthelifeofthehydrauliccylinder,avoid“BOTTOMINGOUT”thecylinder.

Fluidescapingfromaverysmallholecanalmostbeinvisible.Donotcheckforleakswithyourhand.Escaping fluidunderpressurecanhavesufficientforcetopenetrateskincausingseriouspersonalinjuryorevendeath. Leakscanbedetectedbypassingapieceofcardboardorwoodoverthesuspectedleakandlookingfor discoloration.IFinjuredbyescapingfluid,seeadoctoratonce.Seriousinfectionorreactioncandevelopif propermedicaltreatmentisnotadministeredimmediately.
Shoulditbecomenecessarytoloosenorremoveanyhydraulicfittings,linesorreservoircap,besuretorelieveall pressurebyshuttingoftheengineandmovingthecontrolhandlebackandforthseveraltimes.
NEVERremovethecapfromthehydraulictankorreservoirwhiletheunitisrunning.Hotoilunderpressure couldresultinseriousinjury.SeealsoSAFETYPERCAUTIONS.
Thepressurereliefvalveonyoursplitterispresetatthefactory.DONOTadjustthevalve.Onlyaqualified technicianshouldperformthisadjustment.
