Adjustments

Cutting Height Adjustment

Each wheel has a height adjustment lever to change the cutting height of the mower. Follow the steps below to adjust the cutting height. NOTE: All wheels must be moved to the same position. For rough or uneven lawns, move the height adjustment lever to a higher position.

1.Depress height adjustment lever towards wheel, Figure 3-6.

2.Slide lever to desired position for a change in cutting height.

3.Release lever towards deck.

Mulch Plug (if equipped)

Instead of expelling the clippings from the side discharge chute, the mower has the option of recirculating the clippings back to the lawn by installing the optional mulching plug.

1.Lift up and hold the side discharge chute. Insert bot- tom lip of the mulching plug inside the chute opening, Figure 3-7.

2.Snap hooks on the mulching plug over the hinge pin. The hooks must snap into place on the hinge pin, locking the mulching plug firmly onto mower. Release chute deflector.

CUTTING HEIGHT

For rough or uneven lawns, move the height adjustment lever to a higher position. This will stop scalping of grass.

MULCH PLUG (if equipped)

For proper assembly, install bottom lip inside chute opening before placing hooks over the hinge pin.

IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. Fill up gasoline and oil as instructed in the accom- panying engine manual BEFORE operating your

mower.
