Preparation For Use
Saw chain is sharp! Always wear gloves when handling assembly, otherwise serious personal injury may result.
Using improper replacement components or removing safety devices may result in serious or fatal injury.
Note: The machine may be delivered with guide bar and saw chain separated. Install guide bar and saw chain as follows.
Guide Bar and Saw Chain Installation/Removal
Note: Align the brake connector (B) of the sprocket guard to the groove on the side of the brake lever (Front hand guard).
1.Loosen air cleaner cover knob and remove air cleaner cover.
2.Remove spark plug lead.
3.Move the chain brake lever (A) (Front hand guard) fully rearward to remove or install the sprocket guard (C).
4.Remove sprocket guard nuts (D) and remove sprocket guard
(C).
5.Remove guide bar and saw chain if necessary.
Note: See “Maintenance and Care” section for guide bar/saw chain maintenance procedures.
6.For initial setup, install the spiked bumper (F) on the front of machine with 5x12 mm bolts (E).
