Bid Specs:

The transmitter shall be encased in a grey, ABS plastic, compact in design for easy mounting on top of a TV, VCR or audio equipment. The transmitter shall have 8 infrared LEDs that can transmit a signal up to 30 ft (line-of-sight) at 6 dB of intensity. There shall be a three-position slide switch for selecting 95 kHz, stereo, or 250 kHz operation. Two RCA jacks shall be available for mono or stereo line-level input at 200 mV to 10 V. A 3.5 mm jack shall be available for micro- phone input at 1.5 kΩ . A television microphone shall be included to directly pick up the audio of the sound source where there are no available jacks. The transmitter shall have a spare battery port for the RX295’s BAT AP97A on both sides of the transmitter.

The transmitter shall serve as a charger for a single RX295 receiver (not included) plus two additional BAT AP97A batteries.* The transmitter shall automatically turn off after 1.5 minutes of no audio. The transmitter shall be covered by a five-year parts and labor warranty. The transmitter shall be the Williams Sound Corp. model WIR TX295.

The receiver shall be a body-pack type with an IR detector on the front of the unit. The receiver shall be housed in a shatter-resistant plastic case with a hinged battery door that does not separate from the receiver. The receiver shall operate on 95 kHz frequency with 50 µS de-emphasis. The receiver shall have a red LED “on” indicator. The unit shall have a lanyard for hands-free operation. The receiver shall have a combination volume control and power on/off rotator dial. The receiver shall operate for 15 hours with a 9 Volt alkaline battery and for 6 hours per charge with a 9 Volt NiMH rechargeable battery. The receiver shall have a 3.5 mm phone jack with an output of 250 mW. The phone jack shall accommodate low-impedance mono earphones, headphones and neckloop telecoil couplers. The receivers shall provide 127 dB SSPL90 output with an EAR 013 earphone. The receiver shall have a signal-to-noise ratio of 60 dB with the TX95 transmitter and 70 dB with the WIR TX10 transmitter.

The receiver shall be covered by a five-year parts and labor warranty, excluding earphones, headphones, batteries and chargers. The receiver shall be the Williams Sound Corp. model WIR RX3.

*Only one additional battery is supplied with the WIR 125 system.
