LUBRICATION

Lubricate the unit at the locations shown in Figures 4 through 6 as well as the following lubrication points.

Grease:

front caster wheel axles

front caster wheel pivots

blade spindles

clutch plate pivots

brake arm pivots

Use grease fittings when present. Disassemble parts to apply grease to moving parts when grease fittings are not installed.

Not all greases are compatible. Ferris Red Grease (P/N 22285) is recommended, automotive-type high-tempera- ture, lithium grease may be used when this is not avail- able.

Oil:

operator presence handle pivots

steering lever pivots

clutch lock lever pivots

discharge chute pivots

Generally, all moving metal parts should be oiled where contact is made with other parts. Keep oil and grease off belts and pulleys. Remember to wipe fittings and surfaces clean both before and after lubrication.
