See Figure b.Slip the starter rope into the rope guide. Tighten the wing nut. See Figure 10 ATTACHING THE HOSE ASSEMBLYlocated on the left front of the Yard Vacuum. See Figure hole (closest to the end of the tube) in the hose adapter c. Release the pin to lock the hose in place and then into the lower hose handle bracket See Figure Align pin ATTACHING THE BAGwith this hole bracket as leverage when sliding the locking rod locking rod to secure bag in place. See Figure b. Snap bag clip to the top of the lower handle hooking them on the studs. See Figure securing the bag or engine will not start 11 ATTACHING THE BLOWER CHUTENOTE: The bag must be removed before installing the blower chute NOTE NOZZLE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT1.Depress nozzle height adjustment lever towards wheel. See Figure 3.Release lever towards deck 12 Throttle Control Choke ControlBag Handle Spark Plug Wire Engine Off 13 ColderWarmer5W30 SAE30 Oil Viscosity Chart 16 SERVICE AND MAINTENANCEGENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS•Always observe safety rules when performing any maintenance •Periodically check all fasteners and make sure these are tight ElectrodePorcelain ENGINE MAINTENANCEChecking the Spark Plug Servicing the Air CleanerDo not use pressurized air or solvents to clean the air cleaner cartridge Clean or replace the air cleaner every 25 hours of operation Loosen screw and tilt plastic housing cover on side of engine down. See Figure 3.Insert cover’s tabs into slots in bottom of base 4.Tilt cover up into place and tighten screw NOTE: If the filter is torn or damaged in any way, replace it Check Engine Oil2.Remove oil fill dipstick and wipe clean with cloth 4.If needed, add oil slowly - recheck. Do not overfill Change Engine Oil Clean Engine•Keeping engine clean allows air movement around engine Carburetor AdjustmentThe carburetor on this engine is not adjustable Engine Speed To Drain Oil2.Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away from spark plug 3.With engine OFF but still warm remove oil fill dipstick 6.Replace oil fill dipstick and tighten 7.Replace spark plug wire before starting Service Muffler 17 LUBRICATION•Wheels- Place a few drops of SAE 30 oil on each shoulder screw once a season Wheels Nozzle height adjustment levers- Lubricate nozzle height adjustment levers with light oil Locking Rod Nozzle/Hose Vac Lever CLEAN EQUIPMENT•Clean the Yard Vacuum thoroughly after each use •Wash bag periodically with water. Allow to dry thoroughly in shade •If the flail screen becomes clogged, remove and clean as instructed below 18 Drive Control Cable Adjustment2.Pivot control down towards the lower handle There is now sufficient slack in the drive control cable to grasp the outside IMPORTANT REMOVING THE FLAIL SCREENBefore unclogging the discharge chute disconnect and ground the spark plug wire to retaining post7.Remove and clean the screen by scraping or washing with water.
