BRONCHOSCOPE DISINFECTION GUIDE
for OES® BF-40 Series Bronchofiberscopes

WARNING: This guide is only a summary of the steps necessary to properly disinfect your bronchoscope. Be sure to follow the detailed steps outlined in the ENDOSCOPE REPROCESSING MANUAL that was included with your bronchoscope when purchased.
HIGH-LEVEL DISINFECTION

Suction Cleaning Adapter
Fill basin with disinfectant. Attach a suction cleaning adapter
Attach a syringe to the adapter. Pull the plunger of the syringe to fill the instrument/suction channels and channel cleaning adapter with disinfectant solution.
While immersed, detach the adapter from the bronchoscope. Use a clean,

Alcohol
Immerse the bronchoscope's distal end in 70% alcohol and aspirate alcohol for 5 seconds. Remove the distal end from the alcohol and aspirate air for 20 seconds.

IMPORTANT
•Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during reprocessing.
•Autoclave all autoclavable accessories.
•Store the bronchoscope hanging vertically with all valves and caps removed.
•Use a compatible disinfectant and test it for proper concentration as recommended by the manufacturer.
