WARNING: This guide is only a summary of the steps necessary to properly disinfect your bronchoscope. Be sure to follow the detailed steps outlined in the ENDOSCOPE REPROCESSING MANUAL that was included with your bronchoscope when purchased.

Suction Cleaning Adapter

Fill basin with disinfectant. Attach a suction cleaning adapter (MAJ-222) to the previously cleaned bronchoscope. Immerse completely in disinfectant solution.

Attach a syringe to the adapter. Pull the plunger of the syringe to fill the instrument/suction channels and channel cleaning adapter with disinfectant solution.

While immersed, detach the adapter from the bronchoscope. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe away any bub- bles clinging to external surfaces.

Soak all equipment according to the time and temperature recommended by the disinfectant manufacturer. Use a timer to mea- sure the exact contact time.

IMPORTANT

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during reprocessing.

Autoclave all autoclavable accessories.

Store the bronchoscope hanging vertically with all valves and caps removed.

Use a compatible disinfectant and test it for proper concentration as recommended by the manufacturer.

Do not use the carrying case to store "patient-ready" endoscopes. Any bronchoscope placed in the carrying case must be reprocessed prior to patient use.
