■Broadcast Storm Control calculates the average

broadcast bandwidth over the previous

20-second interval. The average is based on four

samples taken at 5-second intervals.

■When the average value exceeds the rising

threshold value, the rising action is triggered.

The action is not triggered again until the aver-

age broadcast bandwidth falls below the falling

threshold level.
