Connecting the Switch

The 8 UTP/STP ports of the switch support automatic MDI/MDIX crossover detection, which allows for true “plug-and- play” capability. With the Auto-MDI function, you can simply plug in an Ethernet cable into the switch without worrying about if the other end of the cable is connected to a network adapter or to another switch or hub.

Powering on the switch is as easy as plugging in the AC Power Adapter to the power port of the switch.

Congratulations on your purchase of the 8-Port 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch. This switch integrates 100Mbps Fast Ethernet and 10Mbps Ethernet network capabilities in a sleek and slim package.

Before you begin, please verify that you have all the parts listed in the Package Contents.

The 8-port switch has built-in LED indicators:

Power: Solid green indicates the switch is receiving power.

Link/ACT: Solid green indicates the port is connected to a station. Blinking green indicates the port is sending/receiving data over the network.
