EA-380D specifications

Antec EA-380D is a well-regarded power supply unit that caters to both casual and advanced PC builders, providing reliable performance and efficiency. The EA-380D is part of Antec's EA series, which is recognized for offering great value while adhering to modern industry standards.

One of the standout features of the EA-380D is its 80 PLUS Bronze certification. This certification indicates that the power supply operates at an efficiency of up to 85% under typical load conditions. This not only translates to lower electricity bills but also results in reduced heat output, prolonging the lifespan of the unit and other components in the system.

The EA-380D comes equipped with a 120mm fan that utilizes a thermally controlled operation, meaning it adjusts its speed based on the temperature within the unit. This ensures quiet operation under low loads while ramping up as necessary to maintain optimal cooling during more demanding tasks. Such a design enhances the overall user experience, particularly for those who prioritize a silent computing environment.

In terms of power specifications, the EA-380D provides a combined power output of 380 watts, with a +12V rail offering up to 288 watts. This single +12V rail configuration is beneficial as it provides consistent power delivery, simplifying the distribution of power among components, whether it be for a modest gaming rig or a standard workstation.

Connection options are tailored to meet the needs of a variety of systems. The Antec EA-380D includes multiple SATA and Molex connectors, allowing users to connect an array of drives, from SSDs to traditional HDDs. Furthermore, it features a 24-pin ATX connector and a 4+4 CPU connector, making it compatible with most motherboards on the market today.

One of the key characteristics of the EA-380D is its focus on safety and reliability. It incorporates numerous protections including over-voltage, under-voltage, short circuit, and overload protections. Combined with high-quality capacitors, the power supply ensures stable operation, which is crucial in maintaining the overall health of the PC.

In summary, the Antec EA-380D is an excellent choice for both performance and efficiency, balancing power delivery, thermal management, and safety features. Its combination of solid build quality, strong efficiency ratings, and versatility makes it a commendable option for those looking to power their systems without breaking the bank.
