Step 1

Clean out your fire pit (Figure 1). Remove old burner (unless it can be re-used).

Attach your new burner with the flex line provided. Hint – unscrew the fitting on each end of the flex line. Screw the fittings to the burner and gas line first. Then screw the flex line to each fitting. Position the burner to the center and 2 to 3 inches below the rim of the pit by gently bending the flex line.

Now pour in the crushed lava rock (Figure 2) while holding the burner in position.

Pour in just enough lava rock to create a flat surface about an inch below the burner.

Then switch to finely crushed lava rock (pea size), filling until the lava rock is flush with the top of the burner. Also See Figure 4.
