WRS System Guide

DEAR FRIENDS

Working on a film set is a hectic business, and the equipment must meet high standards so you can perform your job as efficiently as possible. In designing this new generation of components for the Wireless Remote System we have carefully looked at the needs of the assistants and talked to many of you about existing lens and camera remote systems. In addition we have talked to many rental houses about their needs. As a result these new components are substantially smaller and lighter than before, while at the same time having longer battery life and a more robust radio transmission.

No shoot is like the other, and a fast Steadicam chase requires a different wireless setup than a camera on a crane for a music video with speed ramps. To make sure that you can quickly assemble a wireless system for any type of shoot, the new system is modular to the core. It is as easy to assemble a minimal configuration that controls just focus and camera as it is to add wireless control for complex ramps or the Lens Data Display for an accurate display of lens rings and camera status. This system has the flexibility to provide just the right tool for the job, while offering an unrivaled list of features.

Our new Wireless Remote System can control almost all camera and lens functions for ARRI cameras, including tight integration with ARRICAMs and the 435 Xtreme, and all lens functions for many other cameras. We have simplified some pro- cedures, like setting limits, and made sure the old components still fit the new gear.

It has been fun to develop this system, and we hope that it helps you on your next job.
