3 . Serial ATA connectors (7-pin SATA1, SATA2, SATA3, SATA4)

These connectors are for the Serial ATA signal cables for Serial ATA hard disk drives.

If you installed Serial ATA hard disk drives, you can create a RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, and JBOD configuration using the ULI® RAID controller. Refer to Chapter 5 for details on how to set up Serial ATA RAID configurations.

Enable the Serial ATA Controller item in the BIOS if you want to use the Serial ATA RAID feature. See the SouthBridge Configuration for details.

Due to chipset limitation, you cannot configure a RAID 0 set or JBOD with more than two hard disk drives.

Install the Windows® 2000 Service Pack 4 or the Windows® XP Service Pack1 or later when using Serial ATA.
