P7216 specifications

Axis Communications P7216 is a powerful video encoder designed to deliver high-quality video streaming from analog surveillance cameras to IP networks. This device plays a crucial role in modernizing older CCTV systems by converting their output into a digital format compatible with IP technology. The P7216 is particularly well-suited for organizations looking to enhance their surveillance capabilities without having to fully replace their existing analog cameras.

One of the standout features of the P7216 is its ability to transmit up to 16 analog video channels simultaneously. This high channel capacity makes it ideal for large-scale installations where multiple cameras are in use. In addition to video, the device also supports audio streaming, allowing for two-way audio communication, which adds an extra layer of functionality to the surveillance system.

The P7216 is equipped with advanced H.264 video compression technology, which optimizes video quality while significantly reducing bandwidth and storage requirements. This efficient compression ensures that even high-resolution analog cameras can send real-time video streams without overwhelming network resources. Moreover, it supports multiple streams, enabling different resolutions or formats to be sent to various devices based on specific needs.

With a robust web-based management interface, users can easily configure and manage the P7216 remotely. This feature simplifies the process of setting up video encoders across multiple sites and helps in monitoring the entire surveillance system effectively. Additionally, the device is compatible with a wide range of video management software (VMS), allowing users to integrate it seamlessly into existing security infrastructure.

The P7216 also boasts advanced security features, including HTTPS encryption, password protection, and secure network protocols, which help safeguard sensitive footage against unauthorized access. Its rugged design is specifically built for durability, making it suitable for a variety of environmental conditions.

Overall, the Axis Communications P7216 combines versatility, reliability, and advanced technology, making it a valuable addition to any surveillance setup. By leveraging its capabilities, organizations can maximize the utility of their analog systems while moving towards IP-based surveillance solutions, ensuring enhanced security and operational efficiency.
