Thank you for purchasing the Belkin 6-Port FireWire Hub. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to installation to familiarize yourself with the Hubs unique features and benefits.
The Belkin 6-Port FireWire Hub is a fully featured hub compatible with late model Wintel computers running Windows® 98 SE/Me/2000, or Power Macintosh® computers running Mac® OS 9.0 and above. The Hub provides six peer-to-peer FireWire ports that support data throughput of up to 400Mbps for use with DV camcorders, web cams, FireWire-compatible storage devices, scanners, printers, and other DV-compatible multimedia devices.
The Hub also acts as a FireWire repeater allowing devices to be placed up to an additional 15 feet (4.5 meters) from other connected FireWire devices. If devices are connected to the Hub using 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cables the devices will be able to draw power from the Hub.
