OVERVIEW

Uninterruptible power supplies from APC® provide incredible protection for your application. From servers to midrange systems—even telecomm equipment—you know you can rely on APC.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could customize your UPS for greater reliability? Now you can!

Plug SmartSlotAccessories into your UPS—the accessories become an integral part of the UPS. Customization is that easy!

Expansion Chassis

With the Expansion Chassis, you can integrate SmartSlot Accessories with your Smart-UPS®or Matrix-UPS®—even if the UPS is not SmartSlot equipped.

You can even use multiple SmartSlot Accessories with a single UPS.

Attach a SmartSlot Expansion Chassis to any Smart-UPS or Matrix-UPS serial port, and place a SmartSlot Accessory into the Expansion Chassis. That’s all it takes to customize the UPS to your specific application.

You can configure your UPS for multiple applications. Two SmartSlot Expansion Chassis can be daisychained together, enabling you to use the combined features of up to three SmartSlot Accessories from one UPS installation.

UPS Interface Expander

If you’re managing multiple servers, particularly in a mixed OS environment, the SmartSlot UPS Interface Expander along with a Share-UPSUPS Interface Expander (Product Data Sheet 19022) are essential tools to properly manage signaling servers from a single UPS.

The SmartSlot UPS Interface Expander provides two additional ports to facilitate a safe system shutdown plus advanced UPS management of up to three servers from one UPS.

The SmartSlot UPS Interface Expander offers similar multiple server shutdown capabilities to the APC Share-UPS, in a three-port, integrated version.

Measure-UPSII

Remotely monitor temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions via PowerChute® plus, Call-UPSII, or PowerNet® SNMP Adapters and Agents.

SmartSlot Measure-UPS II offers several benefits:

Remote monitoring via sensor probe. Extendable probe enables users to monitor environments up to 12 feet

(3.7 m) from the UPS or Measure-UPS. Models are avail- able for temperature and humidity monitoring, or for temperature only.

Flexible sensor monitoring via dry contacts. Compatible with closed- or open-loop sensors, even in the same zone. Dry contacts come with a DC power source, allowing more flexibility in sensor options.

Web/SNMP Management Card

Connect your Smart-UPS or Matrix-UPS to the network in a 10BASE-T environment. With this Card, you can fully manage and control the UPSs through a Web browser, Telnet, or SNMP.

Configure the Card locally with a serial connection from a terminal session or with a special configuration utility (included). Or remotely configure it using BootP, TFTP, or FTP. You can also remotely reboot your networking equip- ment if it locks up.

Call-UPS II

Manage a UPS with a SmartSlot from a remote site. Call- UPS II provides complete UPS information, page-notification of power problems, and the ability to reboot attached equip- ment safely via a Call-UPS II Modem (ask Tech Support for Modem details). Communicate with your UPS even

during power outages or when your server is down.

Relay I/O Module

Control and monitor power through a simple dry-contact interface. With the Relay I/O Module, users can control Smart- UPS or Matrix-UPS operations and receive critical UPS alarms, functions that are normally available only through fileserver or modem communications.

Remotely monitor the UPS battery and operation when the power goes out. And safely reboot locked-up remote devices.

NOTE: SmartSlot Accessories provide complete control of your UPS by creating a power-management solution custom-tailored to your application.
