Troubleshooting

PROBLEM	CONDITION		CAUSE
		•	Amplifier not plugged in.
	Power Switch Indicator is OFF.	•	AC outlet dead.
		•	Power switch off.
NO SOUND		•	Circuit breaker tripped.
		•	No signal from source.
	Power Switch Indicator is ON.	•	Volume turned down.
		•	Speakers not connected correctly.
		•	Link jumper not set correctly (pg. 5).
	Power Switch Indicator is ON.	•	Partial short on the output. Check
	Volume Controls are turned up.
	Unit is extremely hot.		speakers and wires.
	Little volume.
		•	Signal from source is already distorted.
DISTORTED SOUND		•	Input signal too large for input type
	Power Switch Indicator is ON.		(reduce signal level applied to input).
		•	Poor speaker connections.
	Volume up. Good volume.	•	Transformer output load on wrong tap.
		•	Bass control boosted too much.
		•	Output too great for speakers, reduce
			level.
POOR	Power Switch Indicator is ON.	•	Speakers wired out of phase.
		•	Bass control set to cut side
LOW FREQ.
	Volume controls are in normal,
RESPONSE
	operational position.		Note: Transformer-coupled speakers have

			less bass response.
		•	Poor electrical connections at input.
		•	Shields of cables not connected.
		•	Input cable routed near AC cables, power
			transformer, or other EMI radiating
