OPERATIONS
Before rst use
•Remove packaging materials, labels and stickers from coee maker.
•Clean the appliance by lling the water tank with clear cold water to the maximum level mark and turn the coee maker on to allow the water to run through (without coee).
•Leave it to cool down for 5 minutes before repeating the process. Brew hot water through the coee maker at least 2 times before brewing with coee.
Using the coee maker
1.Take thermal carafe and lter basket out of the appliance.
2.Raise lid of the water tank and pour the required amount of fresh cold water into the tank. The required number of cups - from 2 to 8 - is determined by lling the water tank based on the water level indicator and desired coee brewing output. Do not ll above 8 cups (Fig.1).
3.Fold over the seamed edges of a # 4 paper lter and place it in the lter basket. Scoop the ground coee into the paper lter. Recommendation would be one level scoop
of coee per cup or vary according to taste (Fig. 2). This equates to approximately
7 to 9 grams of coee per cup. Bonavita recommends using Melitta #4 paper lters.
4.Place the lter basket on the thermal carafe (without lid) and put both back into the appliance (Fig. 3).
5.Switch the appliance on – the on/o switch lights up, showing that the machine is operating(Fig. 4). Attention: Do not take out the thermal carafe and lter basket while brewing cycle – risk of scald due to leaking hot steam!
6.After ending of the brewing process remove the carafe with brewed coee and the lter basket from the appliance. Dispose of the used lter, rinse the lter basket out, and set aside to dry.
7.Tighten the thermal carafe lid on the thermal carafe (Fig. 5).
8.For pouring coee from the thermal carafe, press the lever on carafe lid. Lid must be tightened fully for one hand operation (Fig. 6).
9.The appliance is equipped with an automatic shut o function which switches the machine o after approx. 15 minutes.Appliance can be switched o manual anytime by using the on/o switch.
