an upward direction. When epilating behind the knee, keep the leg stretched out straight.
4Underarm and bikini line epilation Use tests monitored by dermatolo- gists have revealed that you can also epilate the underarm and the bikini line. Please be aware that these areas are particularly sensitive to pain. With repeated usage the pain sensation will diminish.
Before epilating, thoroughly clean the area to remove residue (such as deodorants or creams). Carefully dab the area dry with a towel. When epilating the underarm, keep your arm raised up and guide the appliance in different directions.
Cleaning the epilation head
5After epilating, unplug the appliance and clean the epilation head:
If you have used one of the attach- ments 1a or 1b , first remove it and clean it with the brush.
6Thoroughly clean the tweezer element with the cleaning brush and also with alcohol. While cleaning, you can turn the tweezer element manually. To remove the epilation head, press the release buttons 3 on the left and right and pull it off.
7Give the top of the housing a quick clean with the brush.Place the epilation head and the

1Remove the OptiTrim attachment 8a . Put on the shaver head by clicking it in (the long hair trimmer should be in front).
2When using the shaver head, always slide switch up to setting «2».
3 For best results, guide the shaving system in a way that about half of the shaving foil and the trimmer are in contact with your skin. Always guide the appliance in the direction of the trimmer. The trimmer first raises all long hairs and cuts them off. Then the flexible foil follows to smooth away any stubble.

5 Hold the appliance with the OptiTrim attachment ensuring that the surface of the comb is lying flat on the skin.
Guide the appliance with the comb tips against the hair growth as shown in illustration B5.
Important: As hair does not always grow in the same direction, it may be difficult to cut. In which case, guide the appliance slightly diagonally or in different direc- tions.
Cleaning the shaver head
6 After shaving, unplug the appliance and, if necessary, remove the OptiTrim attachment.
7 Clean the OptiTrim attachment with the brush.
8 In order to clean the shaver head, remove the shaving foil frame.
To do so, press the release bars on the front and back and pull it off.
9 Carefully tap the shaving foil frame on a flat surface.
10 Brush out the cutter block as well as the area below the cutter block.
11 Caution: The shaving foil is a very delicate part that must not be cleaned with the brush.
12 We recommend that you put a drop of light machine oil along the length of the trimmer every 3 months.
