Charging the clipper (HC 50 only)

Connect the clipper to the mains with the on/off switch (6) in position «off» and charge it for at least 8 hours. The pilot light (7) indicates that the clipper is connected to the mains. Once the clipper is completely charged, use it without the cord until discharged. Then recharge to full capacity again.

A full charge will give up to 30 minutes of cordless trimming depending on your hair. However, the maximum capacity will only be reached after several charging/discharging cycles.

Best environmental temperature range for charging is 15 °C to 35 °C.

If the rechargeable battery is discharged, you may also operate the clipper via the mains cord. (If the clipper does not run immediately, charge it for approx. 1 minute in the «off» position.)

General

The person whose hair you want to cut should sit in a position where the top of the head is at your eye level.

The hair should be clean, well combed, tangle-free and dry. Ensure you have a firm, but relaxed grip on the clipper.

If you are not used to clipping hair, begin with a higher setting and then reduce the setting to avoid cutting more hair than desired.

Use a slow and controlled movement. Do not force the clipper through the hair faster than the clipper can cut it.

In between, shake or blow off the hair from the clipper. If too much hair is caught in the distance comb, remove and clean it.

To control your progress during clipping, regularly comb the hair in the style desired.

Normal clipping

Push the distance comb (1) onto the hair clipper until it locks. The hair length selector (5) must be in position «1».

To choose the desired length setting (4), push down the length selector and shift it upward. To start clipping, shift the on/off switch (6) to «on».

Keep the distance comb flat on the hair, parallel to the head, and slowly move against the direction of hair growth. The distance comb can only be taken off when the length selector is set to «1».
