ALWAYS
•ALWAYS lock and remove safety key and store in safe place until next use. The safety key is designed and intended to be removed from engine when not in use. Removing key will prevent unsupervised or unexpected starting of mower by children or unsuspecting adults. The safety key must be in locked position before it can be removed.

♦Place lawn mower on level surface outdoors.
♦Add fuel.
♦Add and check oil. Ensure oil level is FULL.
♦Push spark plug wire firmly on to spark plug.
♦Open fuel shut off valve. (IF EQUIPPED)
[1]Install safety key in locked position. Be sure to read and retain helpful starting tips enclosed with packag- ing of the safety key.
[2]Turn safety key to RUN position (1/4 turn toward fuel cap).
[3]Press engine primer bulb 3 times.

[4]Actuate equipment starting controls according to in- structions in manufacturer’s owner/operating manual.
WARNING: [5] Grasp rope handle. Pull slowly until
resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to start engine and avoid kickback.
